About Redpoint Beach

Redpoint Beach sits at the tip of a long peninsula south of Gairloch with breathtaking views across the Inner Sound to the Isle of Skye and Raasay. The beach has a distinctive warm, pinkish-red tinge from Torridonian sandstone fragments. Access requires a drive down a narrow single-track road for several miles โ€” on most days you will have this extraordinary beach largely to yourself.

Highlights

Views to Skye and Raasay
Red-hued Torridonian sandstone sand
Trotternish Ridge panorama
Shieldaig Island views
Pristine and rarely crowded
๐Ÿš Motorhome Tip NOT suitable for large motorhomes โ€” narrow single-track access road for 4+ miles. Smaller campervans can navigate carefully. Better to park in Gairloch and travel this road in a smaller vehicle.

Getting There

From Gairloch, take the B8056 south toward Badachro, then continue on the minor road to Redpoint (about 8 miles total). NOT suitable for large motorhomes.

Best Time to Visit

May to September. Sunset views to Skye are magnificent. Rarely busy due to access difficulty.
