Ullapool Motors is the best-equipped garage on the western arm of the NC500 north of Inverness. Situated on the Garve Road on the edge of town, it handles MOT testing, servicing and emergency repairs. Ullapool is also a practical pause point — the town has shops, restaurants and accommodation, so any delays while repairs are made are easily managed. The recovery service covers a wide area including the remote roads to the north.

🚐 Motorhome Tip
Ullapool Motors is the most capable garage on the western half of the route. If you're heading into the Sutherland wilderness, getting any niggles sorted here is strongly advisable.
Breakdown Advice
⚠️ Remote Area Advice: Mobile phone signal is patchy or non-existent across much of the NC500. Before you set off, save your breakdown insurance number and this garage's number offline. Consider joining the AA, RAC or Green Flag — their Highland coverage includes recovery from very remote areas. Always carry a basic tyre repair kit and know how to change a tyre.
