Strathmore Lodge Camping
About Strathmore Lodge Camping
A remote inland campsite near Altnaharra on Loch Naver, in the heart of Sutherland's Flow Country — one of the most extensive blanket bogs in the world, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is true wilderness camping, far from the crowds of the coastal NC500. The area is renowned for fishing (Loch Naver is a premium salmon loch), birdwatching (golden plover, greenshank, dunlin and rare black-throated divers breed on the lochs), and extraordinary stargazing away from all light pollution.

🚐 Motorhome Tip
The Flow Country around Altnaharra is one of the best places in Britain for breeding waders in spring and summer. The Altnaharra Hotel is a classic Scottish sporting hotel — basic but atmospheric. Extraordinary stargazing on clear nights.
