Poolewe is a beautiful small village where the River Ewe meets Loch Ewe, just minutes from the extraordinary Inverewe Garden β a National Trust for Scotland property where exotic plants from around the world thrive thanks to the warming influence of the Gulf Stream. The campsite is simple and affordable, with the Poolewe Hotel (which does good food) a short walk away. The loch itself has a fascinating wartime history β it was the assembly point for Arctic convoys to the Soviet Union in World War II.
